Playing the game

How do I move and shoot?

Place a finger anywhere on the screen and drag to move. Your bot fires automatically — there's no fire button. Double-tap your bot during a run to raise a shield, if you have one.

What are the power-ups?

Each one is a nod to a real AI coding assistant: a laser gun, homing missiles, a bomb that seeks the nearest bug cluster, a screen-clearing laser sweep, a score multiplier, and a copilot that flies beside you and fights.

I ran out of attempts. What now?

You get 10 attempts per run. After the tenth there's a one-hour cooldown before you can play again. You can skip the wait by inviting a friend, or subscribe to Ad Free + Everything for ad-free continues.

Shields

How do I get shields?

Two ways. Ranking in the weekly Top Run earns shields when the week resets — the higher your tier, the more you get. You also earn shields every time your daily play streak hits a six-day milestone.

Where do I see them?

Settings → Shields shows your reserve. Awards are also announced on the main screen and the game-over screen when you earn them.

Leaderboards

Why did the Top Run board reset?

Top Run is a weekly board for your country — it resets every Monday, and shields are paid out for where you finished. The worldwide Leaderboard is all-time and doesn't reset.

My country looks wrong.

Top Run uses your SIM or carrier country. On a Wi-Fi-only tablet it falls back to your device language region, which may not match where you are.

Can I change my name or photo?

Yes — Settings → Profile. Tap your bot to use a photo from your library, or pick a colour. Your name appears on the public leaderboard, so please keep it clean.

Purchases and subscriptions

How do I cancel a subscription?

iPhone / iPad: Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Code Buster → Cancel.
Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Code Buster → Cancel.
Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep your benefits until the current period ends.

I paid but didn't get my purchase.

Fully close the app and reopen it — entitlements are re-checked on every launch. If it's still missing, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

All payments are handled by Apple and Google — we never see your payment details, and we can't issue refunds directly. Refunds are requested through Apple or Google Play. See our Refund Policy in the app for details.

Your data

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Delete Account Info. This permanently removes your name, photo and leaderboard entry. It can't be undone.

What do you collect?

An anonymous player ID, your chosen name, optional photo, scores and streak — plus an advertising identifier used to show ads. No email, no sign-in, no real name required. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Found a bug in the game about bugs? Please tell us. The most useful reports include:

• Your device model and OS version
• The app version (Settings → Version)
• What you were doing when it happened
• A screenshot or screen recording if you have one
